Case Study Snapshot
Sector: Global Grocery Retail
Value Added: Breadth of expertise from a centralised service provider ensures ease of communication and enables products to be launched into multiple markets quickly and efficiently. This saves internal resource, ensures deadlines are met and reduces the costs associated with errors or delays.
Ashbury handles the review of own brand labels for this large US based retailer whose products are sold in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Managing such a task in-house is mammoth, often the time and multilingual expertise are not available in house, so, outsourcing to Ashbury who has one of the largest international regulatory compliance teams in the food industry., not only saves time and resources but also costs for this global retailer.
Our work involves a formulation check to ensure that the ingredients and terminology for the labelled ingredients are compliant in each country of sale. This involves close liaison with the client but also their suppliers, and a detailed understanding of the food law requirements for each jurisdiction. Once we have established formulation permissibility for each country, our team of international regulatory experts use their in-depth knowledge of food law and language skills to perform a regulatory adaption of the label for the products for sale in English speaking countries and a regulatory label adaptation and translation for products destined for the various European and Asian markets.
